There is a lot of courageous here that told their stories. I am not one of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, but my father is. He is now in Vietnam and he has been serving there for three years. We miss our father so much, but we understand that he must do his duty. I just hope he is always okay.
May I simply say what a comfort to discover an individual who actually knows what they're talking about over the internet. You definitely understand how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people need to check this out and understand this side of the story. I was surprised that you are not more popular because you definitely possess the gift.
As the daughter, step-daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and widow of veterans, I invite all eligible MEN and WOMEN to join our fabulous Coronado VFW Auxiliary. We are the oldest veterans' service organization auxiliary and are proud relatives of those who have served in overseas combat.
Just joined the VFW. I live Downtown SD, so the Barrio Logan and Coronado posts are near me. I haven't been to any one yet, but looking forward to stopping in and shooting the breeze.
Graduated Marine Corps boot camp in 1991. Went to Infantry training for basic rifleman 0311. Assigned to Kilo Co. 3rd BN 3rd Marines and deployed 3 times with them. I ended my service with the Marine Corps in 1996 only to come back in again as a grunt in 2005.
From 2005 to 2011 I served with Alpha co. 4th LAR doing counter terrorism in the Horn of Africa, then augmented to 1st BN 10th Marines provisional rifle company in Iraq; Fallujah, Hit, Ramadi, Saqlawiya, and Baghdad. Last deployment was with A co. 4th LAR to Helmand, Afghanistan 2009/2010. Highlight was my unit getting the presidential unit citation for Afghanistan, serving with the best of Marines and being a 12 year grunt. Left the Corps due to downsizing as an E6.
